What
is Reiki? Reiki is a short term for the Usui System of Natural Healing, Usui
Shiki Ryoho, a
hands-on and distant relaxation and healing method that accesses universal life energy, the
healing force found in all life.
Reiki helps balance and relax your body, mind,
heart and spirit through gentle, respectful and non-intrusive touch along
with healing intention and compassionate support and regard.
At the end of a Reiki treatment most people relate that they feel both
relaxed and energized at the same time -- like after a good massage. But
unlike a massage the body is not manipulated and no oils or removal of clothing is preferred or needed.
During a
Reiki 1 workshop you learn everything you need to know to focus and transfer
your own natural healing energy for your own benefit and for the benefit of
others. Reiki 1 is the first level of Reiki. Reiki 1 is essentially a
hands-on workshop where you receive basic instruction in the Reiki technique
from the Reiki teacher and immediate hands-on practice using Reiki. Reiki 1
is the first practitioner level that teaches you everything you need to know
to give yourself and others Reiki treatments. During the Reiki 1 workshop,
your own natural healing ability is awakened through Reiki initiations. This
innate ability is reinforced through practicing Reiki on yourself and
others. In each session, the Reiki teacher also shares personal
knowledge and experience in Reiki with the students and encourages
and mentors each student's practice of Reiki.
I
typically teach Reiki 1 in a two-day weekend day workshop with 8 hours
of instruction, practice and 4 Reiki initiations with ample breaks
for discussion, lunch and tea. I have been a traditional teacher in the Usui
System of Natural Healing since 1988.
To join our next Reiki 1 workshop Saturday and Sunday, June
14 and 15, 2008, contact
me at 206-725-8591 , by
email, or by
registering online.
The
fee for Reiki 1 is usually $150.00, but no one
should ever be discouraged
from participating Reiki 1 because of a current financial shortfall. Exchanges
are welcome. Make a proposal! Cancer patients and cancer health care
providers and staff are especially invited to any Emerald City Reiki Center Reiki 1 workshop;
What
is essential in Reiki 1 is the coming together at a Reiki 1 class of
student intention and an initiating master capable of transmitting the
energetic essence of Reiki 1.
How
do you choose a reiki master for Reiki 1? We suggest that you can rely on
traditional reiki masters who trace their lineage back
to Hawayo Takata, masters who offer straight-forward, stand alone, single
level no-nonsense, Reiki 1 classes, and whose commitment
to reiki is long-standing. I have been a traditional
master in the Usui System of Natural Healing,
Usui Shiki Ryoho, since 1988.
In Reiki 1 class, each student's own natural healing ability is awakened
through four reiki initiations. This innate human healing ability is
then reinforced through practicing reiki on self and others. During each of the
four reiki initiations, the primary role of the reiki master is providing a
forum for sharing and opening up each student's innate ability to transmit
healing energy. In each Reiki 1 session, the reiki master
also shares her personal knowledge and years of experience in reiki
with the students and encourages and mentors each student's practice of reiki.
Reiki 1
begins student and teacher sharing and with the first Reiki initiation. After the first initiation, the
history of Reiki is discussed and the head to heart positions are taught.
After the second Reiki initiation the remaining front of the body positions
are taught along with their effects and uses. The students then practice
giving and receiving Reiki using the traditional treatment positions. The
back positions are usually taught in the third session after the third Reiki
initiation. And after the fourth Reiki initiation, the basic self-healing
hand positions are taught and the students practice self-treatment. By the
end of the Reiki 1 training, each student receives four Reiki initiations,
gives and receives at least one full traditional Reiki treatment, and is
certified as a Reiki 1 practitioner by the Reiki teacher.
By the end of the Reiki 1
training, each student receives four reiki initiations, gives and receives at least one full traditional
reiki treatment, and is certified as a Reiki 1 practitioner by the reiki
master. See
our
Reiki 1
Class Schedule.
The second level of Reiki is for those 1st
Degree Reiki practitioners who wish to deepen their experience of and
commitment to using Reiki in their lives. Typically
in traditional Reiki there is a wide range of 1 month, 6 months, 1 year and even many
years between Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 training, as readiness for Reiki 2 is individual. I myself took Reiki 2 training one month after my 1st Degree Reiki Class and
I recommend the intensity of this particular timing for Reiki 2 to my
students and generally schedule my Reiki 1 classes so that a Reiki 2
training is available one month after completion of 1st degree therefore
I offer this
Reiki 1 & Reiki 2 Intensive
option.
